It's that time of year again. The hammers officially start swinging on Saturday, June 20, 2009 and who knows what God has in store for us.
This
year scores of volunteers from around the country will converge on communities
from Chicago, Los Angeles, Seattle, Denver, Grand Rapids, Michigan, the
Mississippi Gulf Coast, and Costa Rica to bring about tangible change in those
communities. Along with friends, family, and complete strangers these
volunteers will leave the comfort of their homes, cubicle walls, and church
pews to sacrifice their own time, energy, and money to show love in action to somebody
they may have never even met.
Why?
Feel free to follow the journey here at this blog and find out. We will keep daily posts and updates of the happenings this year, so keep hitting the refresh button! Better yet, turn off the computer and go volunteer with Blitz Build to experience it for yourself (then come back and read the blog). You might also want to know:
1)
“Tell them where you’ve been by wearing a T-Shirt.” That’s right!
The official Blitz Build 2009 clothing line is available for purchase
HERE. New this year are “hoodies”
(that’s what the kids today call hooded sweatshirts), regular sweatshirts,
women’s t-shirts, and aluminum water bottles. Of course, the t-shirt and hat wonderful compliments to any
wardrobe as well.

Follow along on your own or feel free to read the mornings post HERE. We
challenge you to make it a daily practice, and to invite God to speak to you
through these brief quiet times each morning.
