On the heels of the launch of its highly-successful used book section, Seeds Bookstore is again branching out, this time adding food, accessories, and gift items to its inventory. The new products are the same fair trade items that were sold during Celebration of Hope for the past two years.
Sue Carter, who is overseeing the expansion, says that the most popular items from Celebration of Hope will be available in a special section of the bookstore—including food items such as olive oil, chocolates, and coffee. The apparel/accessories section will feature scarves, handmade jewelry, and eco-friendly handbags. Items made from recycled material will include baskets, bowls, key chains, and hot pads made from old newspapers.
“These are the types of items formerly sold at the Bright Hope store.” Sue says. “Since the store closed recently, this is a chance for us to continue to hold up the value of providing fair trade items.”
The new merchandise will start appearing on the shelves at Seeds the weekend of November 21-22—just in time for Christmas shopping.
